Who is Yeshua? Simply put, He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Wonderful Counsellor, Almighty God, our Redeemer, Savior, Deliverer, and Intercessor; He is the High Priest, the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, the Bright Morning Star, the Branch of Jesse, the Good Shepherd, the Door, the Light of the World, the Teacher, the Way, the Truth and the Life, the Bread of Life, the Captain of Salvation, the Only Way to the Father, the Alef and the Tav, the Son of David, the Son of Man, the Son of God, the Author and Finisher of Our Faith, the Chief Cornerstone, the Faithful and True Witness; Prince of Life, Head of the Church, Immanuel, Judge of Israel, King of the Jews, Lamb of God, Lord of Glory, the Resurrection and the Life, Messiah, Image of God, Man of Sorrows, Horn of Salvation, King of Glory, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Holy One of God, Messenger of the Covenant, Son of the Highest, the Firstborn from the Dead, the Dayspring on High, the Mighty One of Jacob, the Just One, the Comforter, the Chosen of God, the Bridegroom, the Arm of the Lord, the Living Stone, Shiloh, Root of David, the Rose of Sharon, the Sun of Righteousness, the True Vine, the Word, the Amen, the Great I Am.
All things in the world exist because of Yeshua, and for Yeshua. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
When Yeshua, our Lord Jesus Christ, came into this world, He amazed people with His teaching and His miracles–proving Himself to be the promised Messiah of Scripture. But because of the wickedness of men, He was crucified for revealing that He was the Son of God. But this was something Yeshua knew would happen; the Father prepared Him for it, and Christ Himself said that, “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
When Yeshua died on that cross, He took upon Himself all the sins of mankind—including yours and mine, making atonement for sins once and for all. He was the perfect, unblemished Passover lamb, and only His blood saves us from God’s wrath. His work was finished when He rose from the dead three days later, proving His power over death and life—that He was, indeed, the Messiah, and more than that, God with us (Immanuel).
Now, because of His sacrifice, there is a way for us to approach the Most Holy God with boldness. We are welcomed into His Presence when we become His children.
How do we do that? By accepting the finished work of Yeshua, believing he died for us and rose again from the dead, repenting of our sins and turning instead to God. When we do this, confessing with our mouths and believing with our hearts, we will be saved. At that moment, we become a child of God! We commit to following Yeshua for the rest of our lives no matter what the cost, knowing that we have an inheritance in the Kingdom of God waiting for us in the world to come.
The Holy Spirit comes to live inside us when we make this decision, and begins to change us, from glory to glory, into the image of Christ. While this doesn’t happen all at once—it is a process of transformation—it will happen, provided we continue to follow Yeshua.
